10% quota for poor upper castes: Who all are eligible


Highlights:


1. The Union Cabinet has approved 10% per cent reservation in jobs and educational institutions for the economically backward section in the general category.

2. Another this reservation will be add over the previously 50 percent reservation.

The Union Cabinet has made a big decission. Looking towards the Loksabha Vote. Finally, the Central Government approved a 10% reservation for economically backward people taking a big decision on Monday. Under this, people coming to the unreserved poor upper category will be able to take advantage of this decision. With the effect of reservation of this category, there will be a need to increase the limit of reservation, for which a constitution amendment will be required. There are many such people in the unreserved section who are economically weak and the Government has taken this decision for their economic upliftment. Finance Minister Shiv Pratap Shukla and BJP leaders welcomed the decision of the central government as historic.
Who all are eligible for the reservation?
First of all, people who earn less than Rs 8 lakh annually
♦ People who have agricultural land below five acres
♦ For availing the quota, a residential house should be below 1000 sq ft
♦ The residential plot should be below 100 yards in notified municipality
♦ The residential plot below 200 yards should be in a non-notified municipality area
