Smriti Mandhana is now the #1 batswoman in ICC Rankings

Indian women’s cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana has been in great form with the bat over  long time in ODIs. Recently the series in New Zealand, She scored 105 and 90*. She helped to win the series by a 2-1 mergin.

Her recent form give her rise top in the ICC ODI Rankings for batswomen.

Smriti Mandhana becomes no.1 batswoman in ODI ICC Ranking with 751 points.

India opener Mandhana has 751 rating points and has taken a substantial lead over Australia’s Ellyse Perry (681).

She climbed three spots to be crowned the top player in the charts.

However, Indian team captain Mithali Raj slipped one position to fifth in the rankings (669 points).

Since the beginning of 2018, Mandhana has smashed two tons and eight half-centuries in 15 ODIs.

She sits above the Australians Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning, at No.2 and 3 respectively, and the high-flying Amy Satterthwaite, the New Zealand captain who flew up 10 places to No.4.

After making her ODI debut in 2013, the opening batswoman has amassed 1,798 runs from 47 matches.

From the first match she upfront her aggressive approch. Her consistence performance helped him to do well in T20 and ODI format. She has a strong batting average of 41.81. Mandhana has four hundreds and 14 fifties to her name.

Jemimah Rodrigues was another Indian to have a good day at the rankings. She has played just seven ODIs since making her debut in March last year, but a half-century in the first ODI in Napier helped propel a massive rise of 64 places for the 18-year-old. She now sits at No.61 in the rankings.

18-year-old Jemimah Rodrigues was another Indian to make a mark in the rankings.

She has featured in seven ODIs since making her debut in March 2018.

Her fifty in Napier helped her gain 64 places. She now sits at number 61 in the rankings.

Indian spinners Poonam Yadav and Deepti Sharma broke into the top 10.

Veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami is fourth.

There was good news for the New Zealanders too. Lea Tahuhu, the pacer, claimed four wickets in the series, and jumped nine places to No.16 in the rankings. Anna Peterson, who claimed five wickets in the three matches, had a stellar rise of 13 places and is No.45 in the rankings.

There was largely no change among the all-rounders. Perry is still at the top of the all-rounders’ charts, and apart from Sophie Devine, who moved up one place to No.9, and thereby pushed down Deandra Dottin to No.10, there was no change in the top 10.

Both Yadav and Sharma jumped five places each and now sit at No.8 and 9 respectively. Yadav took six wickets in the series to Sharma’s four, while Bisht jumped up nine places to No.13 after claiming five wickets in the series.
